DeFoor Business Services is pleased to announce the sale of McAbee Medical, Inc., a durable medical equipment business headquartered in Decatur, Alabama, with a second location in Huntsville, Alabama, to an undisclosed Alabama based corporate acquirer. DeFoor Business Services represented the seller in this transaction.
After closing this business, it got me to thinking about why we don’t publicize all of our transactions. I guess part of the reason goes back to when I was a teenager and McDonald’s used to post how many burgers they had sold worldwide on their signs. I didn’t care about how many burgers they had sold; I just wanted the one I bought to be good.
I started DeFoor Business Services in 2002. We’ve sold a number of business. I haven’t kept track of them all. I don’t know how many we’ve sold or the total dollar volume of transactions we’ve represented. That’s never been important to me. I just want to do a good job for my clients.
In the last few years, I remember we’ve represented the sale of a wholesale flooring and trucking company, a company that specializes in mobile glass repair for tractor trailer trucks, a specialty packaging business, an automotive service company, a digital marketing company, numerous shredding and document management businesses as consolidation was going on in that industry, a landscaping business, a specialty construction business, a powder coating business, a leadership consulting business, a technology company, and I’m sure a few other businesses in miscellaneous categories.
What’s the most important transaction we’ve ever been involved in? The Next One is the most important one. That’s why I really haven’t tracked or kept a detailed history of what we’ve done.
